March 2020
Dear EuLAP colleagues, dear friends,
As you all know our life is now being influenced by the COVID-19 (or coronavirus) pandemic. The fact is most people can overcome this virus, we all can take easy steps to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe. The World Health Organization advises simple safety measures to protect ourselves. If we feel sick or think we got infected by the virus, we can protect ourselves and others by staying at home, calling a health facility to report, avoiding travel, close contact with people and group gatherings.
Above all, we should not stigmatize people nor promulgate unfounded fears. In fact, we hope that this situation will further strengthen ties, engance global collaboration and serve as an opportunity to support each other in times of need.
Under these difficult circumstances EuLAP physicians, do everything they can to support the efforts of our members to fight this pandemic, and reduce pain and suffering wherever possible.
As a society, we want to congratulate all health professionals who work at the forefront of this worldwide war and we hope that people currently affected by the virus will recover soon!
